Sajama National Park in Bolivia

2D/1N | La Paz / La Paz | From March to November

Discovery of the Sajama National Park combining cultural visits of Calamarca and Curahuara de Carangas churches and hike to hot springs with an oernigh in a local refuge at the heart of magnificient landscape.

DAY 1 - LA PAZ / SAJAMA NATIONAL PARK

Departure for the Sajama National Park. Along the way, visit the Calamarca Church, which keeps a beautiful collection of paintings of angels and archangels painted by “The Master of Calamarca”, anonymous painter of the late 18th century.
Packed lunch (included) on the way.
Stop in the Aymara community of Curahuara of Carangas to visit its ancient church. Arrival and check-in a local refuge.
Continue to Tomarapi. Dinner in a local restaurant. Night in Tomarapi, Sajama.
NB: Sajama – Tomarapi – “Local Refuge”: Shelter with basic comfort where you must adapt to the very few existing infrastructures and recognize the great effort of the community to offer their best services to tourists.

DAY 2 - SAJAMA NATIONAL PARK / LA PAZ

Breakfast at the refuge.
Discovery of the Sajama Park: departure for the geysers, then hike to the hot springs (about 3h walk) to take a dip.
Packed lunch included during visits. Transfer back to La Paz.

  • All land transfers as mentioned by private vehicles.
  • 01 night accommodation (including breakfast) at the facility mentioned above.
  • All tours mentioned speaking with private guide.
  • All entrances to museums and sites of interest according to the program.
  • Lunch on D1 and D2.
  • Dinner (D1).
  • Permanent assistance by our operators throughout the route.

  • Individual material: 1 sleeping bag (-10 º C), 1 backpack, Gore-Tex jacket/pants or equivalent, fleece sweater, beanie and/or hat, gloves, gaiters, mountain sunglasses, sunscreen, pair of trekking shoes and lamp.
