WHEN AND WHERE TRAVELLING IN SOUTH AMERICA
One destination for each season
One destination for each season
To best choose your destination and its ideal visiting season, we have assembled this climate map of our destinations.
In Peru and Ecuador, the variety of climates, including the Andes, the coastal area and the Amazon region, allows for comfortable travel throughout the year.
In Bolivia, photographers generally prefer the Uyuni Salt Flats during the rainy season, when the reflections in the flooded flats create exceptional mirror effects.
Brazil, which covers such a huge territory, can of course be enjoyed all year long, as long as the itinerary is adapted to each season. For example, it is preferable to visit the Pantanal region during the dry season from May to September or the Nordeste region between September and December.
In Argentina, the best season is between October and April when travelers can visit the entire country in ideal conditions. This is also a period during which the climate in Southern Patagonia is moderate.
As for Chile, the Southern Hemisphere summer (December-March) is the best time to visit Chilean Patagonia in the best conditions. Santiago and its surrounding area, however, can be visited all year round as well as the remarkable desert of Atacama and Easter Island.
