DAY 1 - QUITO or GUAYAQUIL (flight) / BALTRA / SANTA CRUZ ISLANDFly from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra Airport in Galapagos. Welcome by you naturalist English-speaking guide and transfer from Baltra Airport to Puerto Ayora where the Galaxy II will be waiting for you. Approximately a two hours drive to Puerto Ayora village located at the southern side of Santa Cruz island. Welcome on board, welcome drink and installation in the cabins.
DAY 2 - FLOREANA ISLANDBreakfast onboard. Visit of Punta CORMORANT: wet landing, snorkeling and short trekking.
DAY 3 - ESPAÑOLA ISLANDBreakfast onboard. Visit Suarez Point: dry landing, walking. There is not color more amazing and outstanding in this tropical desert island that the blue-foot boobies; they have an impressive form to « greeting » and it is a real spectacle to see the ritualistic parade of the entourage. In this place we will be able to observe the Albatross with a weight from three to four kilograms. Around twelve thousand couples have their nests in the Española Island. This specie is considered endemic from this island.
DAY 4 - SAN CRISTOBAL ISLAND / “LEÓN DORMIDO“ ISLANDBreakfast onboard. Visit of the Interpretation Center: Dry landing.
DAY 5 - SANTA FE ISLAND / PLAZA SUR ISLANDBreakfast on board. Landing and visit of the bay of the Santa Fe Island, one of the most oldest islands of the archipelago. This site, with its interesting geological formation, is one of the most beautiful bays of the archipelago hemmed by turquoise blue colored water and fringed by a natural barrier of tiny islands. On this island, you can observe several species among which a colony of seals, the hawk of the Galápagos, the rat of the Galápagos, and the ground iguana of Santa Fe, an endemic specie. In this creek, you can have a walk, swim and do snorkeling together with the marine tortoises, the marine iguanas, sea lions, rays and numerous sorts of tropical fishes.
DAY 9 - SEYMOUR NORTE ISLAND / MOSQUERA ISLANDBreakfast on board. Visit of the Seymour Norte Island. This island arose from the successive overlapping of lava flows stemming from surfacing submarine volcanic eruptions. Marine fossils, Pleistocene era, were found on the island. Its desert landscape and its dry vegetation such as the giant cactus Opuntia, shelters an important population of ground iguanas, blue-footed boobies, as well as frigate birds.
DAY 7 - GENOVESA ISLANDBreakfast on board. Visit of the Darwin bay on the Genovesa island, formed by the edges of a big crater today almost completely submerged and considered as one of the most beautiful sites of the archipelago. After landing on a magnificent beach of coral and white sand, you will explore a forest of mangroves sheltering a rich avifauna, among which the frigate birds, blue-footed and masked boobies, big ground finches and finches of cactus, as well as marine iguanas. After this stroll, you will have the possibility of bathing in crystalline waters of the bay of Darwin.
DAY 8 - SANTA CRUZ ISLAND / GUAYAQUIL or QUITOBreakfast on board. Excursion to the Carrion headland north of the Santa Cruz island. The site of the Carrion headland shelters a numerous and varied avifauna which make its nests at the top of the rocky cliffs diving into the ocean. End of the cruise and transfer to the airport of Baltra. Check-in of the luggage and boarding with help of your guide ; return on the continent.
